How do I track email opens and link clicks?

Tracking tells you when a contact opens your email or clicks a link in it. It works for emails only, not for LinkedIn, WhatsApp or Telegram messages.

Step by step

1. Open an email conversation and click Reply, or start a new email.
2. Under the message box, turn on Opens ("Track when this email is opened") and Links ("Track when links in this email are clicked"). In a narrow composer, they're Track opens and Track link clicks in the More options menu (⋯).
3. Write your email and click Send.

Once the contact opens the email or clicks a link, the sent email shows how many times, for example 2 opens and 1 click.

Find opened or clicked emails

In the Inbox, click Filter and add one of these filters:

• Email opened: Opened or Not opened.
• Link clicked: Link clicked or Not clicked.
• Open count or Link click count: to find emails opened or clicked several times.

Save the filter as a view to come back to it. See filter conversations.

Good to know

• Both switches are off by default. Once you turn them on, they stay on for your next emails in this workspace. Each teammate has their own setting.
• Tracking applies to the emails you send after turning it on. It can't be added to an email that's already sent.
• Some email apps open images automatically or block them, so open counts are an indication, not proof that someone read the email.

FAQ

Can I see who opened my LinkedIn or WhatsApp message?

No. Breakcold doesn't track opens or clicks on LinkedIn, WhatsApp or Telegram.

Are scheduled emails tracked?

Yes. A scheduled email uses the Opens and Links settings you had when you scheduled it.
