How much can I use Chief of Staff?

Chief of Staff and every AI employee are included in your plan. There's nothing extra to buy to use them. What you can do in a given week depends on your plan's usage pool.
One pool for all AI work
Chief of Staff, AI employees, scheduled briefs, enrichment and recordings draw from the same pool, shared by the whole organization. It has two limits:
- 5-hour limit: a short limit so one busy afternoon can't empty the week.
- Weekly limit: the total for the week.
Both refill by themselves. See how much is left on Settings → Usage and Billing, under Plan usage limits, with Used this week split by Chief of Staff, AI employees, Enrichment, Call recordings, API & MCP and Other AI.
Background work (AI employees and scheduled briefs) can use up to half of each limit. When that half is used, background work pauses and chat keeps working.
The plans

Bigger plans have a bigger usage pool. Extra seats and connected accounts are $10 per month each. Prices are in your subscription's currency (USD, EUR or GBP, same numbers). Quarterly and yearly billing cost less: the plan picker shows the exact price.
When a limit is reached
The message box says 5-hour limit reached or Weekly limit reached, with the time it refills. Chat, employees and enrichment pause. Recordings already running finish. You can:
- Wait for refill: free.
- Reset now: both limits refill right away for $50 + tax, up to 4 times per calendar month. Only billing admins can buy a reset. Your credit balance pays for it first.
- Upgrade: move to a bigger plan.
Effort and models
The Effort slider under the message box sets how hard Chief of Staff thinks, and how fast it uses your pool:

| Low, Medium | Claude Haiku: fast and cheap. |
| High, Extra high | Claude Sonnet. |
| Ultra | Claude Opus: the most capable, and very expensive. It uses your pool fast. |
You can also pick a model directly. A model you pick yourself uses your usage much faster than Auto, and the picker warns you. Claude Opus only runs when you choose it.
Good to know
- The pool is per organization: teammates and AI employees share it.
- Your credit balance never expires and pays for resets first. Leftover tokens were converted into it: see What happened to my tokens?
