How do I filter records?
Updated October 19, 2026
Filters narrow a list of people, companies, deals or your own records to the ones that match. They work the same way on every object, in table and kanban views.
Step by step
- Open Companies (or any other object) and click Filter above the list.
- Pick the field to filter on, for example Website. Type in Search fields... to find a field faster.
- Choose a condition, here is not empty. The conditions depend on the type of field. When the condition needs a value, type or pick it next.
- The filter shows as a chip above the list and applies at once. Click a part of the chip to change it, or click the filter icon next to it to add another filter.
Good to know
- There is no Apply button: a filter applies as soon as it has a value.
- The conditions depend on the field type:
- Text: equals, does not equal, contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, is empty, is not empty.
- Numbers and amounts: is greater than, is less than, is between and the like.
- Select: is, is not, is any of, is empty, is not empty. Multi-Select adds is none of.
- Dates: is before, is after, in the last..., this week, last month and the like.
- Links to other records (Company, People, Deals): is linked to, is not linked to, has any link, has no link.
- Fields with an arrow, such as Company, open a second list: filter on the link itself or on a field of the linked record.
- Besides your fields, you can filter on Contacted (first or last outbound message), Replied (first or last inbound message), Meeting (first, last or next meeting), Has Overdue Tasks, Task Assignee and Task Due Date. In a pipeline, Time in Stage counts the days a record has spent in its stage.
- Several filters are joined by &: a record must match all of them. To match one value or another, use is any of on a select field. There are no nested groups.
- Clear removes all filters. Each chip's menu has Duplicate filter and Remove filter.
- AI Filter, at the top of the field list, turns a sentence such as "no deal and created this month" into filters. Check them, then click Apply filters. It uses a small amount of tokens each time (usually under 2).
- A filter is not kept until you save the view. Reloading the page or switching views drops it. See How do I save a view and choose the default view?
FAQ
Can I combine filters with OR?
Not between two fields. Inside one select, multi-select or owner field, is any of matches any of the values you pick.
