How do I create a meeting insight template?
Updated October 19, 2026
A template decides what the AI writes about your meetings: a brief before the call, or insights after it. Create one for each kind of meeting, such as a discovery call debrief.
Step by step
- Open Settings, then Meetings. In Call Insight Templates, click Explore Templates.
- The Templates window lists your workspace's templates and ready-made ones marked Marketplace. Click Create my own template.
- Type a Template Name.
- Open Template Type and pick Post-meeting insight (after the call, from the transcript) or Pre-meeting insight (before the call, from your CRM data).
- Click Create Template. The template opens in the editor as a draft, with a first Summary section.
Finish the template
- In each section, write the question in Section Title and what the AI should look for in Instruct the AI on what to extract.... Under Format, pick Paragraph or List.
- Click Add Section for each other question. Drag sections to reorder them.
- To test it, choose a recorded meeting in Select a call... on the right and click Run Preview.
- Click Save, then Publish template. Only published templates can run on meetings or be chosen as a default.
Good to know
- To start from a ready-made template, select a Marketplace template in the Templates window. Preview template shows its sections, and Clone & edit adds a draft copy to your workspace.
- For a template of your workspace, the same button reads Edit template.
- A preview costs a small amount of tokens, usually less than 1, and is not saved on the meeting.
- The editor shows Unsaved changes until you click Save.
- To delete a template, use the trash button at the top of the editor. Owners, admins and managers can delete.
- Next: choose your default templates so they run on their own.
