How do I skip or force-record a single meeting?
Updated October 19, 2026
The recording mode decides for all meetings. To change it for one meeting, use the Upcoming list of the Meetings page.
Step by step
- Open Meetings and click Upcoming. Each meeting shows Will record, Won't record or Not a call.
- To skip a meeting, move the pointer over it and click Stop recording, the video button at the end of the row.
- To record a meeting the bot would skip, move the pointer over Won't record to see why, then click Force record. You can also click Record Meeting at the end of the row.
Good to know
- The change saves at once and shows "Meeting bot mode updated".
- It applies to every event that uses the same meeting link. A weekly meeting that always uses the same link is skipped, or recorded, every week.
- Once a meeting has started, you can no longer force or skip it from the list. To stop a bot that is already in the call, open the meeting and click Leave call.
- When the workspace recording mode is None, Force record has no effect. Use Join Meeting instead.
- A meeting without a link shows Not a call: there is nothing for the bot to join.
- A meeting that was recorded can't be turned back into an unrecorded one. Someone with the right to delete meetings can delete the recording with Delete call.
FAQ
Why is there no Force record button?
It's hidden for meetings that already started, were cancelled or were deleted, and for people who can't manage that meeting.
The meeting isn't in the list at all
The bot only sees events of calendars connected in Settings → Accounts. For any other meeting, send the bot with its link.
