Why isn't a conversation showing on a record?
Updated October 19, 2026
A conversation appears on a record once it's linked to it. Breakcold links it on its own when the record has the same email address, LinkedIn profile or phone number as the person you're talking to. When that doesn't happen, one of the causes below is almost always the reason.
Step by step
- Open the record in People, Companies or Deals.
- Check that the record has the participant's email address, LinkedIn URL, WhatsApp number, Telegram username or phone number in its fields. Conversations linked to the record show in Last Interaction.
Common causes and fixes
| What you see | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The record has no email, LinkedIn URL or phone number | Nothing to match on. This is common for records created by an import, an automation or the API with a name only. | Add the value to the record. The existing conversations are linked within moments. |
| The record's value is slightly different | A different email address, an old LinkedIn URL, or another phone number. | Correct the value on the record. |
| The email is in a field that isn't a unique identifier | Email conversations only match email fields set as unique identifiers. | Use the record's main Email field, or make your field a unique identifier. See unique identifiers. |
| Two records have the same LinkedIn URL or phone number | On LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Telegram, Breakcold doesn't guess between two records. | Merge the duplicates, or link the conversation by hand. |
Good to know
- Last Interaction lists the latest conversations and meetings with that record. When there are none, it reads "Conversations and meetings will appear here."
- History you didn't import when you connected an account isn't in Breakcold, so it can't show on a record.
