How do I choose which fields enrichment fills?
Updated October 19, 2026
Each piece of data enrichment finds, like a job title or a company's headcount, is an attribute. The Field Mappings table decides which field of your records receives each attribute, and whether it may replace a value that is already there.
Step by step
- Open Settings → Enrichment, click the People or Company row under Automatic Enrichment Settings, and scroll to Field Mappings. Each row shows an Attribute, its Type and its Destination. Click Select target field next to an attribute that isn't mapped yet.
- Pick one of your fields, or click Create new attribute to make a field for it: in Create field and map, check the Field name and click Create and map. Press Escape to close the list without choosing.
- Next to a mapped field, click the overwrite button to see how enrichment writes to it.
- Choose Always overwrite, Fill empty or Never overwrite.
Good to know
- Always overwrite (the default) replaces the field's value with what enrichment finds.
- Fill empty writes only to an empty field. In the first minute after a record is created, it still replaces what was there, so placeholder values typed at creation are filled in.
- Never overwrite writes only to an empty field and never replaces a value, even on a new record.
- To stop enrichment from filling a field, click Clear mapping (the X next to it).
- Use Search values... above the table to find an attribute.
- Rich LinkedIn data (Experiences, Educations, Skills, Languages, Recommendations and more) is not mapped by default. Create new attribute creates a field of the right type for it, so you don't need to create one first.
- Person attributes that start with "Company" can be mapped to the person's linked company, for example Company Industry to the company's Company Industry field.
- Bio and First Name / Last Name are not mapped by default.
