How do I choose which emails are imported?
Updated October 19, 2026
Filters keep emails you don't want out of your Breakcold inbox, such as newsletters, invoices or a whole domain. They apply to one email account at a time.
Left out without any filter
- Emails Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums.
- Spam, junk and drafts.
Set up filters
- Open Settings → Accounts and click the email account.
- Under Advanced Email Ingestion Filters, turn on Enable advanced filters.
- Add what to leave out:
- Excluded keywords: words in the subject or body. Separate them with commas, and use
*as a wildcard, for exampledeal*. - Excluded folders: tick folders of your mailbox.
- Excluded senders: an address, a domain such as
newsletter.com, or a pattern such as*@newsletter.com.
- Excluded keywords: words in the subject or body. Separate them with commas, and use
- Click Preview removal to see how many emails already in Breakcold the filters would remove.
- Click Save changes.
An email that matches any one rule is left out.
When emails already imported match your filters, Breakcold asks Apply exclusion filters and remove old emails? and shows how many will go. Click Apply and delete to remove them, or Cancel to keep everything as it was. Conversations left empty are removed too.
Warmup filtering
If you use an email warmup tool, turn on Filter warmup emails under Warmup filtering. Breakcold analyzes your recent emails and suggests a rule: click Use suggestion, or Edit manually to write your own with folders, senders and keywords. Then click Save & remove matches, which also removes warmup emails already imported.
Good to know
- The analysis needs at least 20 received emails. The first one is free; analyzing again costs a few tokens, shown on the button.
- If Excluded folders shows no folders yet, run Force Resync in the account's Account Details.
- To stop filtering, turn off Enable advanced filters and click Disable advanced filters.
