How do I create a webhook receiver endpoint?
Updated October 19, 2026
An endpoint is the URL your other tool sends its webhooks to. Create one endpoint per tool, or per kind of data, since each endpoint writes one object type. Endpoints are in Settings → Webhooks.
Step by step
- Open Settings, then Webhooks, and click Manage receive endpoints on the Webhook Receiver card.
- Click Create Endpoint.
- Type a Name, for example the tool that will send the data. The Description is optional.
- Open the Object Type list.
- Pick the kind of record each webhook should create or update: Person, Company, Deal or one of your custom objects.
- Choose a Mapping Mode. Smart (AI) lets AI fill the fields from each payload and uses tokens on every webhook. Manual Mapping maps each payload field once and costs no tokens per webhook.
- Click Next. This creates the endpoint and shows its webhook URL: send a test request from your tool, or copy the cURL command. Once the test arrives, map the fields, then click Configure & Activate and Confirm & Activate.
Good to know
- Test Webhook: the page waits with Waiting for test payload... and moves on to Map Fields by itself as soon as a request arrives. Send a real example from your tool: the mapping is built from it.
- The request must be a POST with a JSON body. Form posts work too when the JSON is in a field named
payload, bodyordata. - Until you click Confirm & Activate, the endpoint shows Setup: requests only replace the test payload and create nothing. To finish later, open the endpoint and click Continue setup.
- On the last step you can turn on an AI filter. See How to filter incoming webhooks with AI.
- After activation, the endpoint's page shows the webhook URL, the counts of the last 7 days, the Delivery Logs and the Settings tab, where you can rename it, pause it or delete it. The object type and the mode can't be changed: create a new endpoint instead.
- Keep the webhook URL private: anyone who has it can send data to your workspace.
