How do I pay an overdue invoice?
Updated October 19, 2026
If a renewal payment fails, for example because a card expired, the invoice stays unpaid and access to the workspace is limited until it is paid. Your plan and your data are kept.
What you see
- Owners and admins see Payment overdue: "This subscription has an outstanding invoice. Pay it to restore access to the workspace."
- Other members see A payment is required, with the names of the administrators who can pay.
Step by step
- On the Payment overdue screen, click Pay outstanding invoice. The invoice opens on Stripe's secure payment page.
- Pay with a card that works. Access comes back once the payment goes through.
Good to know
- You can't change your plan while an invoice is overdue: the plan page says "Pay the outstanding invoice before changing your plan" and shows the same Pay outstanding invoice button.
- To use another card for your next renewals, update your payment method in the billing portal: see How to get my invoices.
- If the invoice won't open, try again, or contact our support team from the chat.
