Can I undo an import?
Updated October 19, 2026
An import can't be undone with one click. To remove the records it created, filter the list on the day they were created, select them and delete them.
Step by step
- Open the list you imported into, for example People, and click Filter.
- Scroll down the list of fields and click Created, the record's own creation date (not one under Company or Deals).
- Choose in the last.... To target one day, choose is on and pick the day of the import instead.
- Type how many days back the import goes. Only the records created in that time stay in the list.
- Check the list, then tick the box at the top of it to select every record shown. If the bar at the bottom offers Select all, click it to include the records not loaded yet.
- Click the trash icon (Delete) in the bar at the bottom. In the confirmation, check the number of records, type delete and click Delete.
Good to know
- The filter also catches records created by hand or by other tools in the same days. Add another filter, like Owner, if you need to narrow it down.
- Select all selects up to 8,000 records at a time. Repeat for a bigger import.
- Deleted records stay in Deleted records for 30 days, then they are removed for good. Open Settings → Records and click Deleted records to restore them. A restored record comes back with a new ID.
- Records the import updated can't be put back to their old values this way, and deleting them would delete records you had before the import.
- Delete in Import history (offered for drafts, failed and canceled imports) only removes the import from the list. It doesn't touch the records.
FAQ
Did the import create companies too?
If you mapped Company → … columns on a people import, yes. Filter Companies on Created the same way to find them.
Can I stop an import that is still running?
Yes. On the Run import step, click Pause import. The rows already imported stay.
